Houses of 464 series known as Czech series was developed in the USSR in the 1950s. Large-scale construction continued until the late 1980s on the whole territory. At first, the All-Union series were built, and then their modifications. You can distinguish them by an interstorey area in the entrance halls and identical double-leaf windows.
You can find houses of 464 series in Kyiv in Lisovyi, Obolon, Borshchahivka, Holosiivskyi, Berezniaky, Rusanivka, in the area of Polytechnic Institute and Veselkovyi.
9-storey houses have 4 to 6 apartments per storey. One passenger elevator is available for tenants. Kitchens are equipped with gas cookers.
Ceilings are more than 2.65 m high.
Front access doors are 4 to 8 m high. There are no balconies and semi-recessed balconies on the side of the entrance; they are available on the opposite side.
Kitchens in Czech series are usually small with the area of 6 m2. The current projects include bay-windows that help increase the area. Often armoured concrete panels between the walls and the ceiling are additionally equipped with angle stiffeners. They are not visible at first sight.
