Houses of KS project emerged in the early 1990s in the commuter towns of Kyiv — Kharkivskyi and Troieshchyna.
These are 9- and rarely 10-storey houses with a high engineering storey. Houses have flat roofs.
Walls are made of brick; floors are made of armoured concrete. On the outside, the buildings are faced with glazed tile with some minor exceptions.
The number of front access doors (entrance halls) varies from house to house. Houses have from 1 to 6 entrance halls. Entrances are rather large.
There are several one-, two- and three-room apartments with the separated layout. Area of rooms and a kitchen is adequate.
Ceilings are about 2.5 high on average.
Floors are covered with linoleum.
Kitchens are mainly equipped with gas cookers, and in the houses erected under later projects kitchens are equipped with electric cookers.
Houses are equipped with one elevator and a rubbish chute located behind it.
Each apartment has a rounded balcony or semi-recessed balcony. Corridors in one- and two-room apartments are rather confined, but corridors in three-room apartments are spacious. Due to their shape, balconies cannot be glazed.
