The first houses of 134 series emerged in Kyiv in 1975. You can find them in the second residential area of Obolon. The project ended in the late 1990s. Similar houses were erected in Vynohradar, Teremky, Kharkivske, Troieshchyna and Sviatoshyno. Modifications of buildings differ depending on the construction period and territory.
Usually, these are 9 or 10-storey buildings with one large engineering storey. Some of them have 4 two- and three-room apartments per storey and some have 8 one- and two-room apartments per storey and several entrance halls. One passenger elevator and a rubbish chute are available for tenants.
The staircase and elevator system of the 134 series has an unusual layout — from a hall between apartments on the first storey with an entrance to an elevator; the staircase is separated by a glass-block structure located in parallel to the hous axis.
Rooms and restrooms are separated from each other.
Walls are made of lightweight expanded clay aggregate — winterized panels. All houses have armoured concrete floors.
Ceilings are 2.65 to 2.75 m high.
The floor is made of linoleum and rarely of parquet. Apartments are equipped with gas cookers.
