Houses of Sovmin (Council of Ministers) series emerged in the 1980s. You can find them in Desnianskyi and Pecherskyi districts of Kyiv.
These are 14-16-18-storey houses, rarely 9-10-13-storey houses, with an engineering storey.
Walls are made of brick and floors are made of armoured concrete. Like in houses of KT and KTU series, outer panels have rusticated dressing. Front access doors are large.
There are 4 to 8 apartments per storey, most of which are one-, two- and four-room apartments; three-room apartments are rare. All rooms are separated.
Freight and passenger elevators are available for tenants. Some houses have 3 elevators. A rubbish chute is located on each storey.
The average height of ceilings is from 2.55 to 2.75 m.
Floors are covered with parquet or linoleum.
Kitchens are equipped with electric cookers.
Additional data: Houses of Sovmin series were considered deluxe housing. Officials and departmental managers resided in these houses. That is why the residential area of apartments is rather large and the layout is enhanced. Apartments feature spacious halls and a bathroom.
