Stalin series

Stalin-era buildings emerged in the early 1920s — mid-1950s. They look like prerevolutionary buildings and have a similar layout.

These are 4-8-storey houses; each storey is 3 –4 m high. There are 2 to 4 apartments per storey. The area varies, but large buildings prevail.

Floors are made of mixed wood (some of them required regular replacement) or armoured concrete.

Walls are 3 bricks (up to 1 m) thick.

Additional information: Stalin-era buildings are characterized by large windows and storage rooms.

Houses are not equipped with rubbish chutes.

Sometimes 5-storey houses were equipped with elevators, but mainly after major maintenance.

Quality of the houses was very high, as violating the construction standards and working in a slipshod manner were prohibited during the Stalin era. Stalin-era buildings have maintained their fundamental, monumental, magnificent and durable look until the present time. Even their engineering systems are in good condition.
